I'm very happy to
announce that my latest CD, Happy Polka Day, is a National
Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame 2017 Nominee for Recording of the
Year! My original songs "Happy Polka Day," "A Waltz for Kelby," and "A
Waltz for Heather" are also 2017 Nominees for New, Original Song.
Winners will be announced at the Polka Hall of Fame Awards Show on
Saturday, November 25 at the Downtown Marriott Hotel in Cleveland, OH.
To say that I'm thrilled
would be a tremendous understatement. Of all the CDs I've released,
this is the one I put the most work into. From the music to the cover,
to the liner notes inside, Happy Polka Day is a special tribute to my
parents, both of whom passed away during the lengthy production
process. It was my parents who set the series of many a happy polka
day in motion for me, which has turned into the incredible blessing of
a family-supporting career. In their honor, I'm posting a full-length
version of my original song, "Happy Polka Day," on the Music page of
my website. Just click the song title and listen or download away!
Whether you're a voting member of the Polka Hall of Fame or an avid
polka music fan, I hope you'll enjoy what you hear! If you fall into
the voting group and enjoy the original song and samples of other
music from my album, please keep Happy Polka Day in mind when casting
Many, many thanks to the
Polka Hall of Fame for their support of my music through these
nominations, and to Don Hunjadi and Jim Thull for all the work they
put into the project!
And I would be remiss
without mentioning that you can pickup a copy of Happy Polka Day
straight from the Music page at
www.mikeschneiderband.com, or at one
of the many places we'll be performing the rest of this summer and
fall. Just check out the schedule below for all the details, or visit
