Volume 20-08
SINCE MY LAST UPDATE
So what's been going on since I last emailed? Well, it's been an
interesting summer to say the least. I put on a few dozen virtual
shows for libraries from coast to coast. It was a lot of work, but I
hope the families who participated enjoyed the final product,
personalized to each participating library. It was a fun culmination
of my music and video production skills coming together. That having
been said, it's my most sincere hope that we'll be back to in-person
programming next summer. Recent reports of herd immunity to COVID have
me encouraged. We can all hope!
SCRUB, SCRUB, SCRUB
Whether you know a student, teacher, school administrator, or
librarian, or just need a little brush up on COVID-era best hygiene
practices, I’m happy to announce the release of my original song,
“Scrub, Scrub, Scrub (COVID-19 Edition),” and corresponding music
video. Thanks to polka DJ Greg Drust for the inspiration! Looking to
purchase the track, or the entire Pint Size Polkas Vol. Two: Dance!
album it’s part of? Then visit the Music page. MP3 tracks are
available individually for $0.99, or purchase the entire MP3 album for
less than $10. Share the good message of proper hand washing during
this time of COVID, and enjoy some fun polka music in the process!
LATE SUMMER AND FALL
SCHEDULE
There is some good news on the horizon for the Mike Schneider
Band. Check out the Schedule page at
www.mikeschneiderband.com. It is admittedly much, much shorter
than a normal schedule for this time of year, but you do have a few
opportunities to come out and enjoy some live music. Highlights
include our annual visit to Hoffman Estates in September, this year
for a replacement event to their usual Platzkonzert. It will be held
on the same grounds, but in more of an open beer garden setting. It
should be a fun night! You can also catch us at the Wisconsin Polka
Boosters’ Scholarship Dance in Muskego for the first time in October.
We've enjoyed playing many events for the WPB in the past, and look
forward to helping them raise some money for this worthy cause! Plus,
we’ll be playing a few beer garden events in the Walker’s Point
neighborhood in Milwaukee. You can find details for our three “Party
on Pitt” appearances below. Reserve your or plot table here. Thanks to
MobCraft Beer and Broken Bat for sponsoring these events!
ONLINE PERFORMANCES
If you're not able to venture out, or are just looking for some
additional polka fun during the week, I've been trying to do one video
per week - just me and my accordion, unplugged, playing a song and
talking a little bit about it. Be sure to visit my
Facebook and
YouTube pages for these videos!
CHRISTMAS KIELBASA
Christmas is right around the corner, and with the Holidays this
year comes some seasonal music in its happiest form... polka! My
Christmas Kielbasa album will be available on CD as well as
digitally through my website. Stay tuned for more information. I plan
to start taking pre-orders in October and should be able to begin
shipping in November. The album will feature five original Christmas
songs - including the title track, as well as my polka spin on Holiday
season favorites like "Jingle Bells," "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas,"
"Auld Lang Syne," and more. I'll include a full track list with
preorder information in October. Stay tuned for all the details.
Whether for yourself, a polka-loving friend, or as a super fun
stocking stuffer for anyone in your life, Christmas Kielbasa
will be a must-add to your Holiday shopping list in 2020!
UNTIL NEXT TIME
Take care, stay healthy, and I hope we have the chance to cross paths
in the very near future! Thanks again for your support of the
musicians you know during these difficult times of COVID-19.
As always, be
